A French 18 karat (18K) yellow gold charm pendant designed as a round medal with a relief of the Madonna and Child with halos, with the Latin motto 'ALMA MATER' (Nourishing Mother) above. The reverse with a frame of entwined liles surmounted by a cherub's face and wings. Signed E. Dropsy, stamped with the eagle's head for minimum 18 karat gold and French manufacture, along with an incomplete maker's mark.
