A French 18 karat (18K) yellow and white gold and ruby love charm pendant with a black enamel rebus spelling out "Plus qu'hier, moins que demain" ("More than yesterday, less than tomorrow") - a line taken from the love poem written by Rosemonde Gerard to her husband (the author of Cyrano) in 1889.
The word "plus" is symbolised by a white gold plus sign, and the word "moins" by a minus sign set with three rectangular cut synthetic rubies with a total carat weight of approximately 0.09 carats.
Engraved to the reverse 'JO-HB 19-7-69'.
Signed A.Augis, stamped with the eagle's head for French manufacture and Augis' makers mark.
