An antique French 18 karat (18K) yellow gold charm pendant or medal designed by Monier depicting the profile of the Virgin Mary with a sheaf of lilies and with a blossom wreath on her head. Stamped with the eagle's head for French manufacture and signed Emile Monier. The reverse depicts a spray of roses, engraved with the monogram DJ / DF and the date 18 Mai 1913.
Emile Adolphe Monier (1883-1970) was a French sculptor and medallist who studied under Ponscarme and Charpentier who typified the Art Deco period.
