An antique clasp set with pale green chrysoberyl in a floral design mounted in silver. Portuguese c.1750.
The 57 chrysoberyl foil-backed stones are original to the piece, and are in good condition showing very little wear. No discolouration to foil-backs is evident.
This clasp would look wonderful mounted on a grosgrain or velvet ribbon and worn as a choker, alternatively it may be mounted to three strands of gemstones or pearls.
Measurements: 3.5 x 3 x 1cm, 14.65 grams.
Unmarked.
