An extra large French 18 karat (18K) yellow gold, diamond and ruby love charm pendant with a rebus spelling out "Plus qu'hier, moins que demain" ("More than yesterday, less than tomorrow") - a line taken from the love poem written by Rosemonde Gerard to her husband (the author of Cyrano) in 1889.
The word "plus" is symbolised by a plus sign set with five single-cut white diamonds with a total approximate weight of 0.10 carats, and the word "moins" by a minus sign set with three rectangular cut synthetic rubies with a total carat weight of approximately 0.15 carats.
Signed A.Augis., tested for 18 karat gold to the body of the pendant and the pendant bail. The original pendant mount (attached to the body of the pendant) has been replaced with a 14 karat mount, and that part is stamped with the French import mark for lower karat gold. The rest of the pendant is original and tests as 18 karat gold.
This giant plus qu'hier pendant is the largest available size of the Augis More Than Yesterday range, and is a very rare find.
