A rare and stylish Art Deco watch by Jaeger LeCoultre made in Palladium and set with 17 diamonds around the dial. This model was usually made by Longines so it is very unusual to find this example by Jaeger LeCoultre.
Palladium is a rare precious metal similar to platinum, and was occasionally used in the manufacture of watches and jewellery in the 1940’s when platinum was reserved for munitions in the war effort.
We have had this watch serviced so that it is in perfect running order – it just needs winding. It is currently on a farmed alligator strap which would need to be swapped out for another strap if the watch is sent abroad – just contact us to discuss options. It measures 21.5cm from buckle tip to the last hole in the strap.
The dial is signed “LeCoultre” and has a satin silver finish set with seventeen diamonds in white gold mounts to mark the hours. A dial to mark the seconds is located at the 6 o’clock point. The crystal is clean and clear, while the dial has some scratches, it is in good condition for its age.
The case is signed “LeCoultre” to the interior and marked Palladium and numbered 20044 with some scratch numbering to mark previous repairs. It measures approximately 40mm by 21mm across.
The movement is signed “LeCoultre Co” and has 17 jewels set in gold casings. The movement is numbered 238332.
A French ring circa 1930 with an 18ct pale yellow gold tapering shank with geometric form and three raised ridges to a panel of platinum set with twenty old single cut diamonds with a total approximate weight of 0.50 carats.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the beautiful necklace ShinyPrettyThings obtained for Ellie. She was so thrilled with it and I just know it will be precious to her always. The colour is so vivid and she was so thrilled to open it.
Over the past year or so ShinyPrettyThings has carefully assembled a beautiful collection of Jewellery pieces for me. Predominately rings and necklaces, each piece has been carefully chosen with my personal taste in mind. I like delicate details and period design, Georgian, early Victorian and a little Art Deco…this is just what ShinyPrettyThings has found for me. I love my new ruby and diamond pearl drop earrings that were so cleverly sourced to tie in with my other pieces. ShinyPrettyThings brings wonderful customer service and immense knowledge and attention to detail to each commission.
My new clocks arrived safely this am. They are absolutely beautiful!! Extremely well packed and in perfect condition. Could not be happier!
