This antique ring has a large central, intensely green Chrysoberyl with a surround of eight slightly smaller Chrysoberyls. The stones are mounted in silver-topped gold with a foliate design to the shoulders leading to a slim shank.
These lovely earrings were the height of fashion in the 1870s. The almandine garnets were cut in a double cabochon (with a hollowed out back) to allow more light to shine through the stones and give them a glowing appearance.
A really interesting antique ring set with a cabochon sapphire collet set to cut-out fleur de lis. The tapering hoop has a mitre-shaped bezel which may indicate an Episcopal origin. The ring was originally nielloed, but this has sadly been worn away from most of the exterior, although some foliate and floral motifs are still visible. The base of the ‘mitre’ form has an inscribed and nielloed rope form.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the beautiful necklace ShinyPrettyThings obtained for Ellie. She was so thrilled with it and I just know it will be precious to her always. The colour is so vivid and she was so thrilled to open it.
Over the past year or so ShinyPrettyThings has carefully assembled a beautiful collection of Jewellery pieces for me. Predominately rings and necklaces, each piece has been carefully chosen with my personal taste in mind. I like delicate details and period design, Georgian, early Victorian and a little Art Deco…this is just what ShinyPrettyThings has found for me. I love my new ruby and diamond pearl drop earrings that were so cleverly sourced to tie in with my other pieces. ShinyPrettyThings brings wonderful customer service and immense knowledge and attention to detail to each commission.
My new clocks arrived safely this am. They are absolutely beautiful!! Extremely well packed and in perfect condition. Could not be happier!
