Set with a large oval cabochon of very fine grained vivid lapis lazuli with minimal pyrite (gold coloured) flecks, this is a true show stopper of a cocktail ring. The cabochon is centrally prong set in a bold 18 carat yellow gold ring by threads of yellow gold emerging between four platinum mounted diamond flames on each side reaching up from the back of the shank to support the lapis dome.
The diamond flames are set with 60 brilliant and single-cut diamonds, with a total estimated weight of 2.00 carats. The lapis lazuli cabochon measures 21.8mm x 15.7mm and is 8.5mm high.
Numbered 148560, with no further marks, this ring was probably made by an important jewellery house such as Sterlé, or VCA, around 1965, but we cannot find any further marks or reference on it.
