A heavy paperknife in silver-plated metal by sculptor Jean Filhos for the French silverware brand Christofle.
This paperknife was created in 1974 and depicts an entwined group of naked women. It is signed Filhos on the handle, and is marked ‘Christofle France’ on the blade.
Jean Filhos was an architect who moved into sculpture and jewellery in 1960. His later work is recognizable by the use of erotic motifs.
A cheeky piece of silverware to brighten anyone’s desk!
The paperknife shows some scratching and wear to the tip of the blade but is in otherwise excellent condition.
The paperknife measures 20cm x 3.8cm x 2.5cm (8”x 1.5” x 1”) and weighs 145g.
