A vintage Venini handblown Murano Art Glass hand or vanity mirror in aqua blue encased in thick twists of clear glass ‘treccia’ (‘braid’) with decorative brass fittings.

The mirrored glass is in generally good condition with some age spots and a little peeling of the silvered backing to the very edges of the mirror in 4 small and unnoticeable areas. The mirror is backed with the original green felt which shows some signs of wear.

The mirror is unsigned which is not unusual, but it is similar in style to the designs created for Murano and Venini by Carlo Scarpa from the 1940s to the 1950s.

The mirror measures 12” x 5.5” x 7/8” (30cm x 14cm x 2cm), and weighs 416 grams. The mirrored glass is 4.25” x 5” (12.25cm x 10.75cm).
